As a result of the franchise business model, 4,775 local businesses provide 44,800 jobs to the West Virginia economy and account for $3.4 billion of the state's economic output, and $1.3 billion of private sector payroll. Nationally, nearly 733,000 franchise businesses provide 7.6 million jobs, $674.3 billion of economic output and $404.6 billion of GDP, which is 2.5% of U.S GDP.*
